Connect with Students

Cornell Career Services sponsors a variety of programs that provide alumni, parents, and other professionals an opportunity to offer hands-on experience or an information interview to current students interested in exploring different career fields. Alumni often tell us that participation in these programs is one of their most rewarding volunteer experiences.

Cornell Alumni Connections Program

Introduce a freshmen, sophomore, junior, or senior to the world of work through a job-shadowing visit or information/lunch meeting. No compensation is involved, and students are responsible for their own transportation and accommodations. Sponsor registration is available throughout the year. For more details on the program and volunteering as a sponsor, visit the Cornell Alumni Connections Program pages.

Cornell Days

Host a group of students at your workplace during school breaks. This program is typically coordinated through an organization's human resources or recruiting departments. For more information, contact Demetra Dentes '70.

ILR WISP Program

The ILR Winter Intersession Program is designed to expose upperclass ILR students to a wide variety of careers available in ILR-related fields. Students spend a portion of their winter break, usually two weeks, volunteering or working on a project designed by the sponsoring employer.

ILR FEX Program

The ILR Freshman Extern Program provides ILR alumni and others interested in interacting with current ILR students an opportunity to sponsor a freshman for a day of observation during winter break.
