Introduction

A variety of recruiting events—from large employer career fairs to more intimate consortia where interviewing may occur—give students and employers an opportunity to learn more about each other.

Students can gather information on employers and their job opportunities well before they are ready for the formal recruiting process. Employers get the chance to meet many students and form impressions of them in person, outside of the interview setting. A student who prepares fully for these recruiting events can increase the efficiency of the job search. Employers can often entice outstanding students to submit resumes for their positions.
