Attire

Attire is business casual. Weather in Central New York is highly unpredictable, so be prepared for anything! The career fair facility is not air conditioned, so we encourage you to bring lightweight, comfortable cotton clothing if the forecast is for warm weather. In case of rain, bring an umbrella for the short walk to lunch.

Cancellation Policy

A full or partial refund will be issued for cancellations received prior to September 10, according to the schedule below. All cancellations must be sent in writing to the Registration Coordinator and will be confirmed by e-mail.
• Cancellations received by August 25 will receive a full refund.
• Cancellations received after August 25 and by September 10 will be assessed a $100 processing fee.
• Cancellations received after September 10 will not receive a refund.

Copy Service

Copy service is available on campus at the Campus Copy and Supply Center in Statler Hall (607/257-3381) or the The Campus Store; both locations are close to the career fair facility. For large orders, we recommend off-campus copy centers, including Gnomon Copy (607/273–3333) and Kinko's (800/463-3339).

Displays

Booth Size
Your space at the Career Fair allows room for a floor display no more than 8' in length. A 3'x6' table, tablecloth, and 3 chairs are provided.

Banners
Banners cannot be hung on the walls, so please bring an alternative method and supplies—such as heavy tape—for displaying your banner.

Audio Displays
The Career Fair can get very crowded and noisy, so for the comfort of your neighbors and to eliminate extraneous noise, we prefer that you not bring audio displays.

Electricity
There is limited access to electrical outlets in the facility so we encourage you to bring displays that do not require electricity. We will try to run extensions to all employers who indicate a need for electricity; but cannot guarantee this service. If you would like electricity, please be sure to indicate that on your registration form. Remember that you will need to bring your own heavy duty extension cord.

Network Connections
There are no network/internet connections in Barton Hall.

TVs and VCRs
Cornell is unable to offer TV or VCR rentals, and electrical hookups in the Career Fair room are limited. We encourage you to bring displays that do not require electricity or video hookups.

Set Up
Recruiters are responsible for unpacking and set up of their own materials, as well as repacking and shipping after the Career Fair. (For more details refer to the "shipping" section below.) You may set up your Career Fair booth from 8:00—10:00 am. If you plan to arrive in Ithaca the evening before your Career Fair date, you may set up from 5:00—7:00 pm in Barton Hall.

Facility Information

Barton Hall is a multi-purpose facility used primarily for athletic events. The floor is nicely padded, but there is no air conditioning in this facility. On hot or humid days the room can be very warm, so we encourage you to dress comfortably for conditions.

Information Sessions

To assist employers in scheduling corporate presentations or information sessions that do not conflict competitors' events, Cornell Career Services pre-approves dates for information sessions. Please contact Demetra Dentes via email or 607/255-7464 with date preferences before contacting the Statler Hotel or ILR Conference Center.

Meals

Breakfast and Lunch
A light breakfast and a buffet luncheon are included in the registration fee.

Box lunches are available, upon request, for recruiters who are not able to leave their tables for the lunch buffet. Vegetarian or vegan box lunches must be ordered in advance.

Parking On Campus

You may drive to the loading zones on the north and west sides of Barton Hall to unload your materials. A staff member will assist you by bringing your materials to your booth. Due to high traffic and the lack of long-term parking in the area, you must move your vehicle to the designated permit areas immediately after unloading.

All area hotels offer a shuttle service, which is the most convenient way to avoid parking issues.

Parking Permits
On the morning of each fair event, parking permits will be available at the parking table located near the check-in table. Participants who wish to pick up permits in advance can do so between the hours of 5:00—7:00 pm at Barton Hall on the prior evening.

Shuttle Service
We will provide shuttle service between parking areas and Barton Hall.

Registration Information

Please use the link on the right of this page to register. Registrations submitted after August 31, 2009, will be accepted on a space-available bases. After this date, employer profiles will be viewable by students online only and will not appear in the printed Employer Directory.
