Graduate School Day

Thank you for your interest in Cornell’s Graduate School Day. As a result of an unusually high number of registrations this year, we reached a maximum number of participants in early September. If you received an invitation to participate in Graduate School Day and would like your school to be added to a wait list for the event, please contact Kristine Goggan at email@example.com.

A full refund will be made for cancellations before September 18, 2013. No refunds will be made after that date.
Student attendance last year was nearly 500. Efforts are made each year to publicize the event widely to Cornell students. Also, invitations are sent to approximately ten other colleges and universities in central New York.
Blocks of rooms have been reserved at two Ithaca hotels, and shuttle service will be provided by Cornell from these hotels to Barton Hall and back. Please be sure to indicate your participation in Cornell's Graduate School Day when making reservations.
- Courtyard by Marriott Ithaca, located near the airport (866/541-3600). Group rate is $154 and reservation deadline is September 2.
- Hilton Garden Inn, located downtown (607/277-8900 or 877/782-9444). Group rate is $135 and reservation deadline is September 9.
Homewood Suites by Hilton (607/266-0000) will extend their “Cornell rate” of $149 to Graduate School Day representatives reserving a room by September 4. Arrangements for transportation to and from Barton Hall should be made with the hotel.
Representatives bringing materials with them to Graduate School Day can drop them at Barton Hall before parking in a nearby garage, or materials can be shipped to arrive between September 24 and October 1. We cannot guarantee that materials arriving after October 1 will be available for use during the event.

You will be responsible for shipping materials back to your school. Please bring the necessary shipping forms with you; these forms must include the weight of shipment and your account number, or your materials will not be picked up. Literature left behind will be recycled.
The following delivery company provides regular service to Cornell and will pick up your materials at Barton Hall between 3:00 and 4:00 pm following the event.

Graduate School Day is held in Barton Hall, a large facility used primarily for athletic activities. There is no air-conditioning, and on hot and/or humid days, the room can be uncomfortable. We encourage visiting representatives to dress appropriately for these conditions.
If your school ships materials in advance, you should find them at your table in Barton Hall. If materials are not there when you arrive, please see Administrative Assistant Kristine Goggan at the reception table immediately.
Meals and refreshments will be served in the curtained dining area at the north side of Barton Hall as follows:
- Coffee, tea and pastries—when representatives arrive
- Lunch—at noon
- Bottled water—throughout the day
Plan to take the shuttle to and from the Cornell campus, with service from Hilton Garden Inn and Courtyard by Marriott.

If you are driving to the event and would like to park on campus, drive to the entrance on the east side of Barton Hall to unload materials, if necessary, and pick up a parking permit and directions to a nearby parking garage.
