Cornell Extern Travel Grant—January 2010

Travel Grants for Medicine and limited funds for Business and Consulting
The purpose of this grant is to provide an opportunity for Cornell students who, due to financial constraints, would not otherwise be able to participate in the Extern Program to explore opportunities in the career fields of medicine, business and consulting. Although eligibility for financial aid is not required, students are expected to explain the financial circumstances that limit their ability to participate in the Extern Program as part of the grant-application process.

Except in rare cases, the limited grant monies will be available only as reimbursement for actual expenses incurred, and only reasonable expenses will be considered for reimbursement. (For the business and consulting funds, priority will be given to students from majors other than “typical” business fields.) The grant is made possible through a generous contribution to the Extern Program by a Cornell alumnus.

The deadline for the January 2010 Travel Grant Application is November 11, 2009. Students will be notified grant decisions by November 20. Students who are not granted funds will meet with Nancy Law to discuss alternate placement options.
