September 21 (Monday)	Round 1 Application Period Begins View externship listing descriptions online or review listings in the Extern Program Notebooks located in 103 Barnes Hall and in all career offices. NOTE: The entire application process is online.
September 21 (Monday) OR September 30 (Wednesday)	General Information Meeting/Guidelines for Applying 5:00—6:00 pm, Goldwin Smith Hall, Lewis Auditorium
October 1 (Thursday)	Resume Critique Session Sign up for a critique via externprograms@cornell.edu. 4:30—6:30 pm, 103 Barnes Hall
October 2 (Friday)	CCNet Tutorial Deadline CCNet tutorial must be completed by noon in order to be eligible for Round 1.  The tutorial is mandatory to publish a resume in the Extern Round 1 Resume Book.
October 5 (Monday)	Round 1, Step 1 Application Deadline To be considered for placement, you must complete Parts 1, 2, and 3 and submit online by the designated times:     Sophomores 10:00 am      Juniors  12:00 pm     Seniors  2:00 pm
October 19(Monday)	Round 1, Step 2 Externship Placement Acknowledgement and Essays Deadline The link to the extern's results page will be emailed to applicants who submitted complete applications by the deadline. Students who are placed must acknowledge their placement and complete the Step 2 essays by 7:00 am.
October 19 (Monday)	Round 2, Application Period Begins See Round 1 above for description. Round 2 includes externships still available from Round 1 and new sponsor listings received after September 20.
November 2 (Monday)	Round 2, Step 1 Application Deadline To be considered for placement, you must complete Parts 1, 2, and 3 and submit online by the designated times:     Sophomores 10:00 am      Juniors  12:00 pm     Seniors  2:00 pm
November 4 (Wednesday)	Networking A-Z:  Identifying, Building and Leveraging Your Network 5:00 pm, 105 Ives Hall
November 11 (Wednesday)	Round 2, Step 2 Externship Placement Acknowledgement and Essays Deadline The link to the extern's results page will be emailed to applicants who submitted complete applications by the deadline. Students who are placed must acknowledge their placement and complete the Step 2 essays by 12:00 noon.
November 11 (Wednesday)	Travel Grant Application Deadline Pending available funding
November 12 (Thursday)	OPEN ROUND 203 Barnes Hall, 2:00—6:00 pm
November 16 (Monday)	Open Round Step 2 Externship Placement Acknowledgement and Essays Deadline Students who are were matched in the Open Round must acknowledge their placement and complete the Step 2 essays by 12:00 noon.
November 18 (Wednesday) OR  November 20 (Friday)	Extern Orientation Meetings (attending one is MANDATORY) If you have a class conflict, contact us to make alternate arrangements for the required session. 5:00—6:30 pm, Goldwin Smith Hall, Lewis Auditorium
November 30— December 7	Initial Contact Period Students contact sponsors to discuss date(s) and logistics of externships.
December 3 (Thursday)	Networking: How to "Work the Room" 5:00 pm, One World Room, Annabel Taylor Hall
January 4—23, 2010	Externship Period
January–February	Externship Evaluation Period Complete required Externship Evaluation online.
