Connecting Students with Alumni

Shadowing Programs
Cornell alumni
host students in the workplace during semester breaks to give an insider's view of a career field as part of the Cornell Extern Program, FRESH, the ILR Freshman Extern Program, and the ILR WISP Program. The Extern Program offers over 800 opportunities representing a wide range of occupations to all undergraduate students.

Information Interviews
The Cornell Career Contact Network is an online resource that enables students to obtain career advice from alumni and other professionals working in diverse fields. Students are also encouraged to conduct information interviews in person during semester breaks.

Alumni Forums
Alumni participate in career panels, career days, on-campus recruiting, employer career fields, and information sessions to help students establish contacts and learn about specific career fields.

Senior Women-Alumnae Dinners
Cornell alumnae meet with upperclass students in New York City, Boston, Washington, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Philadelphia over winter break to discuss the transition from university to workplace and other topics related to life after Cornell.
