Beinecke Scholarship Application Procedure

Important Dates

February 5	Deadline: Application due to the Fellowship Coordinator. See below for details.
February	Cornell Endorsement Committee reviews applications and selects one applicant to be endorsed to the Beinecke Foundation. Applicants are notified of endorsement decisions; endorsed applicant may revise his or her application material on the basis of the committee's comments.
February 22	Deadline: FINAL SUBMISSION of application. See below for details.
February 26	Foundation deadline for receipt of application material.
About May 1	Announcement of new Beinecke Scholars.
May 2010	Cornell Fellowships Reception for all endorsed applicants.

Application Materials

Application materials are available online and from the Fellowships Coordinator, 103 Barnes Hall. Call 607/255-6931 to schedule an appointment.

APPLICATION MATERIALS DUE TO FELLOWSHIP COORDINATOR FEBRUARY 5

The Fellowship Coordinator will forward your application materials to the Cornell Endorsement Committee. Make sure that you read the fine print on the application forms and that you have filled in all the blanks as you would for the final submission. Materials should be in polished form, collated and paper-clipped (not stapled) for easy distribution to committee members. All materials must arrive to 103 Barnes Hall by 4:30 pm, February 5, 2010.

Submit to the Fellowship Coordinator:

• Application Form
• Resume
• Personal Statement (1,000 words or less)
  
• Transcripts from each institution attended

FINAL SUBMISSION TO THE BEINECKE FOUNDATION FEBRUARY 22

Endorsement

If you are endorsed, it is your responsibility to submit the final version of all application materials by 4:30 pm, February 22, to the Fellowship Coordinator, who will forward them to the Beinecke Foundation.

A complete application consists of:

• Application Form
• Three Letters of Recommendation
• Resume
• Personal Statement
• Transcripts from each institution attended
• Financial Data sheet
