Churchill Scholarship
Application Procedures
Important Dates
Early Fall
| Register for the GRE computer-based General Test. Call 1-800-473-2255 or visit the GRE Web site gre.org
to
register. The General Test should be taken by November, so scores are available
to the selection committee.

| Deadline: Application due to the Fellowship Coordinator. See below for details.
| October-November
| Cornell Endorsement Committee reviews applications and selects two applicants
to be endorsed to the Churchill Foundation.
| November 4
| Deadline: Final submission of applications for approval. See below for details.
| November 10
| Receipt Deadline: Submission of electronic applications.
| January-February
| Approximately 20 students are chosen by the Churchill Foundation for preliminary
endorsement.
| By April
| Announcement of winners.
| May 2010
| Cornell Fellowships Reception for all endorsed applicants.

Application Materials
Applications are available online and from the Fellowship Coordinator, 103 Barnes
Hall. Call 607/255-6931 to schedule an appointment.
APPLICATION MATERIALS DUE TO FELLOWSHIP COORDINATOR OCTOBER 9
Work from a copy of the application for submission to the Cornell Endorsement
Committee. Make sure that you read the fine print on the application
forms and that you have filled in all the blanks as you would for the final submission.
Materials should be in polished form, collated and paper-clipped (not stapled)
for easy distribution to committee members. All materials must arrive to 103
Barnes Hall by 4:30 pm, October 9, 2009.
Submit:
- One copy of the Winston Churchill Foundation Scholarship Application
- Four letters of recommendation (Recommenders may send letters and cover sheets
directly to the Fellowship Coordinator.)
- College transcript from each institution attended
- GRE General Test scores if available
FINAL SUBMISSION TO THE CHURCHILL FOUNDATION
November 4, 2009 (paper application materials)
November 10, 2009 (electronic)
Endorsement
If your application is endorsed, you will submit the final
version of all application materials by 4:30 pm, November 4, to the
Fellowship Coordinator for approval before submitting them
electronically before November 10.
A complete application consists of:
- One copy of the Winston Churchill Foundation Scholarship Application
- Four letters of recommendation, along with the signed cover sheets
- College transcript from each institution attended
- GRE General Test scores (due to the Foundation by the end of November)
- One passport-size photograph, attached to the application
