Graduate School Day
September 24, 2008
11:00 am—2:30 pm
Thank you for your interest in Cornell's Graduate School Day. Registration for
Graduate School Day is online. Confirmation of registrations will be sent via e-mail and will include
information
about hotel accommodations, transportation to and from the event, and parking.
Additional information
is posted at this site.
The fee to attend Graduate School Day is $100.00. Please send a check payable
to "Cornell University" for that amount to:
Graduate School Day Registration
Attn: Kristine Goggan
103 Barnes Hall
Ithaca, NY 14853-1601
Cornell University's Federal Tax ID# is 15-0532082.
A full refund will be made for cancellations before September 5. No refund will
be made after that date.
Student attendance last year was 700. Significant efforts are made each year
to publicize the event to Cornell students, and we send invitations to approximately
ten other colleges and universities in central New York.
Blocks of rooms have been reserved at several Ithaca hotels. Indicate your participation
in Cornell's Graduate School Day when making reservations.
Representatives bringing materials with them to Graduate School Day can drop
them
at Barton Hall before parking, or materials can be shipped to arrive between September
17 and September 23. We cannot
guarantee that materials arriving after September 23 will be available for use
during
the event.
Please ship materials to:
GRADUATE SCHOOL DAY
Attn: Mr. George Wood
PDC Warehouse
321 East Palm Road
Ithaca, NY 14850
Returning Materials
You will be responsible for shipping materials back to your schools. Please bring
the necessary shipping forms with you; these forms must include the weight of
shipment and your account number, or your materials will not be picked up. Literature
left behind will be discarded.
The following delivery companies provide regular service to Cornell and will
pick up your materials at Barton Hall between 3:00 and 4:00
pm following the event.
Graduate School Day is held in Barton Hall, a large facility used primarily for
athletic activities. There is no air-conditioning, and on hot and/or humid days,
the room can be very warm. We encourage visiting representatives to dress appropriately
for these conditions.
Phones
There are no public telephones in Barton Hall. The nearest pay phones are located
next door at the Statler Hotel.
If your school ships materials in advance, you should find them at your table
in Barton Hall. If materials are not there when you arrive, please see Administrative
Assistant Kristine Goggan immediately.
Meals and refreshments will be served in the curtained dining area at the north
side of Barton Hall as follows:
Continental breakfast–when representatives
arrive
Lunch–around noon
Cookies and
cold drinks–in the afternoon
Bottled water–throughout the day
Directions are available for travel to Barton Hall.
Directions are also provided for travel from Barton Hall following the event.
Plan to take the shuttle to and from the Cornell campus, with service from Hilton
Garden Inn, Courtyard by Marriott, and Homewood Suites by Hilton. For representatives
not staying
at these hotels, we advise parking at the Seneca Street parking garage downtown—located
across the street from the Hilton Garden Inn—and taking the shuttle from the Hilton
Garden Inn.
