Additional Summer Programs

There are many summer programs that are designed specifically for or are especially suitable for Cornell students. We encourage you to check this page regularly, because we will update it as we obtain additional information.

  • Cornell Cooperative Extension offers summer internships throughout New York State, iin a variety of specialty areas.
  • Cornell in Hollywood offers a number of film-related internships specifically for Cornell students thanks to Cornell alumni currently working in the film industry and the Cornell Club of Los Angeles. All majors are welcome to apply. Students arrange a faculty sponsor, who will receive the evaluation of the student's internship performance in order for a grade and credit to be assigned.
  • Cornell in Washington's Summer in Washington program offers an opportunity to earn credits, complete and internship, and explore the city.
  • Cornell on the Cuyahoga is an intensive summer immersion program in Cleveland, OH, open to students from Cornell, Case, Colgate, Princeton, Smith, and Yale. It offers challenging internships, community introductions, alumni connections, and group housing for the summer.
  • Cornell Plantations 2008 Intern Program offers internships in botanical collections, natural areas research, the wildflower garden, and education.
  • Cornell's Shoals Marine Laboratory offers unique opportunities for students to experience marine science through summer research internships and employment (in addition to summer courses) on Appledore Island, in the Gulf of Maine.
  • Cornell's Urban Scholars Program's Undergraduate Research Summer Internship offers a paid internship with one of New York City's most innovative non-profit organizations or government agencies serving low-income children, families, and communities.
  • Cornell's Urban Semester Program offers an option for an 8-week summer program in New York City that includes four-day internships plus seminars in multicultural and professional practice once each week.
  • The Janet McKinley '74 Family Grant is open to all Cornell sophomores to assist students in pursuing interesting, provocative, and entrepreneurial summer projects.
  • Project ION (Internship Opportunities Now) offers a variety of summer internships in upstate New York to students from participating colleges and universities in the region.
  • Summer of Service Work-Study Program is an 8-week internship program administered by Cornell's Public Service Center that allows students to link their academic and career interests with substantial community projects.
