Resources

Professional associations exist for almost every career area; they often provide lists of their accredited colleges and universities. Many, such as APPAM, welcome student members at a modest fee. Membership enables you to get a copy of the association’s directory and to attend conferences. Identify associations online using Associations Unlimited, or in print by using the Encyclopedia of Associations in 103 Barnes Hall.

Talking to people in fields that interest you can be invaluable. Cornell's Alumni Mentor Network is a good place to start.

The Graduate and Professional School Application Guide is produced by Cornell Career Services, and is available in your college career office or 103/203 Barnes Hall.

APPAM
Provides links to jobs and student membership to the organization.

ASPA
The strong "Student Services" section provides lists of governmental internships, career links, and scholarship information. It also offers a means for students to ask questions of professionals in the field regarding course work, future careers, or public administration in general.

NASPAA
Contains career advice, links to internships, and links to additional resources including other associations and scholarships. A special feature is a searchable database of NASPAA member schools that offer the MPA and the MPP degree programs.
