Presented by: Anne Poduska and Janna Lamey

Thursday, May 28, 2015

As graduate students, it is normal for priorities to change over time and, as a result, to assess how your graduate program fits in with your career goals, interests, values, and personal life.  If you are a PhD student considering changing your program to a master's degree or leaving your program early, and are wondering what the steps are for making this decision, join us for lunch and a discussion on:

  • Common reasons why PhD students may want to consider changing or leaving their degree program
  • ¬†Cornell policies and practices that can inform your decision
  • Approaches for researching the career implications of changing your degree program
  • Strategies to successfully navigate potentially difficult conversations with your advisors and prospective employers
  • Resources within and outside of Cornell to support you during this decision-making process.

Presenters: Anne Poduska, PhD, Cornell Career Services (ap284@cornell.edu) and Janna Lamey, MSEd, Graduate School janna.lamey@cornell.edu
