Resumes and Cover Letters

Introduction

An effective resume will be an essential tool for nearly every student, no matter what your career goals are. Be sure to read through our information on the components of creating an effective and successful resume?and find out how employers use them.

After you've prepared a draft of your resume using the materials here and in our Career Guide (available in 103 Barnes Hall or any of the college career offices), you should have it reviewed. Student Career Advisors and professional staff in your college career office and at Cornell Career Services in Barnes Hall are available to critique a rough draft of your resume.

We are also available to critique a rough draft of your cover letters. Review the pages in this section on job-search correspondence first for good tips.
