Career and Alumni Connections
Women's Dinners
Senior/Junior Women?Alumnae Networking Events"Unlike other career events, the dinner was attended by women all having an enthusiasm for Cornell in common. The small size of the event facilitated easy conversation, rather than an overwhelming career forum." These events are hosted by alumnae in their homes to provide a forum for graduates and current junior and senior women to discuss a wide range of topics related to life after Cornell?do you move first or find a job then move; balancing time for work and family; apartment hunting; cost of living; negotiating salaries; "Glass Ceiling" and "Mommy Track"?myths or realities? The purpose of these dinners is not employment but rather to help ease the transition from university to workplace through discussion of issues shared by women. Dinners/brunches will be held during winter break in the homes of alumnae in
Albany, Boston, Buffalo, Chicago, Dallas, Ithaca, Los
Angeles, Miami, Philadelphia, Rochester, San Francisco, Washington DC, Manhattan,
and the NY Metro area.
Attendance is limited to 8-15 students per event and an equal number of alumnae.
This program is focused on issues related to women about to enter the workforce
and, therefore, seniors have preference for placement. Online registration is
available November 1 through December 10.
